4F Logistics

4F Logistics carries out the distribution operation for a number of manufacturers and retailers from its warehouse in Cape Town. GMS Systems designed, manufactured and installed a multi-level warehouse with both dynamic rails and static storage for over half a million hanging garments, using a pipework structure.

Rennies Textile Logistics (RTL)

Rennies Textile Logistics (RTL) operates a number of Distribution Centres for Woolworths, the leading retail chain for quality products in Southern Africa.

The Montague Gardens DC was fitted out with garment handling equipment by GMS Systems several years ago. The facility was designed as a cross-dock facility for 100 000 garments with a 24 hour turnaround time in the DC.

Garment sets are received pre-picked, barcoded and overbagged and placed onto purpose-designed set trolleys. Sets are sorted for transfer to other Distribution Centres or for local distribution routes.

The system is fully supported off the roof to reduce floor obstructions and increase flexibility. The entire system was installed in six weeks, ahead of the tight schedule, and met all the client's strict quality controls.
